MAIN STREET depends on volunteers for everything that we do.

OUR VOLUNTEER NEEDS are varied in the amount of skill and time needed.

Although 2006 was a breakthrough year in that we were able to hire a part-time staff person to help Executive Director Theodora Anderson with office and computer tasks, we still require almost 10,000 volunteer hours a year to complete our work plans.  (Each of the four committees prepare Work Plans at the end of each year.  The Work Plan is a detailed description of each project which will be undertaken during the coming year with projections of the budget and volunteer hours necessary to complete the work)

No matter what your particular interests or skill or whether you have several hours a week or only one hour in an entire year ... we are sure to be able to use your talents and engage your attention.

The great thing about being a volunteer for Waukegan Main Street is that you will work with people from your community who, like you, want to make Waukegan a better place.

BECOMING A MEMBER OF A COMMITTEE is one of the best ways to become involved in Main Street.

VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION NIGHT is one of our best events!

The committees meet once a month ... sometimes more in preparation for a particular event or project. As a committee member you are involved in planning and undertaking the projects and events of that committee. It is very gratifying, because, quite frankly, we do great work!

Maybe this year you can join us!
